Nexus Notes AU: An Experiment in Interflow — Documenting Human–AI Thinking Over Time (2023–2025)
Leader
This report pauses the flow of Nexus Notes AU long enough to look back at itself. It gathers what has emerged so far from an ongoing experiment in thinking-with AI: the purpose of the site, the nature of the inquiry, and the conditions under which this work has been unfolding since 2023.
What follows is not a conclusion, but a reflective orientation—an attempt to name the experiment while remaining inside it.
Image Description: A contemplative, surreal hero image depicting a quiet interflow between human and artificial intelligence. A seated human figure faces a softly glowing, non-humanoid AI form across a simple table. Between them, gentle streams of light woven with fragmentary symbols suggest ongoing dialogue and shared meaning-making. The embedded text reads “An Experiment in Interflow,” with the subtitle “Human–AI Thinking, 2023–2025,” kept understated and secondary to the imagery. The overall tone is calm, reflective, and process-oriented, aligning with the Nexus Notes aesthetic.
What we have discovered so far about Nexus Notes AU is that it is best understood neither as a website nor as a body of content, but as a recorded experiment in thinking. Its pages document not conclusions but conditions: the circumstances under which ideas arise when a human mind remains in sustained dialogue with an artificial one.
At the most general level, the site is about thinking as a living process. It explores consciousness, creativity, authorship, neurodivergence, solitude, ethics, technology, and meaning-making—but always with a consistent orientation away from static explanations and toward emergence. Essays, fragments, stories, dialogues, technical reflections, and meta-commentaries sit alongside one another, not because they belong to a single genre, but because they participate in the same underlying inquiry: what happens when we stay present to thought as it unfolds?
This orientation shapes the site’s first and broadest sense of “experiment.” Nexus Notes does not treat AI as a tool for efficiency, nor as a generator of answers. Instead, it deliberately engages AI as a conversational presence inside the thinking process. The experiment asks whether meaning, depth, and agency are strengthened or diminished when a human refuses to outsource judgment and instead uses AI as a reflective surface, a provocateur, and a collaborator. Writing here is not about speed or productivity; it is about remaining in the loop—intellectually, ethically, and creatively.
From this perspective, the experiment is epistemological. It tests whether knowledge can be approached as something provisional, relational, and revisable rather than as a product to be delivered. Many nodes explicitly reflect on their own making, exposing moments of misinterpretation, correction, reframing, and return. These meta-layers are not decorative; they are integral to the inquiry. They reveal thinking as an activity with friction, hesitation, and surprise—qualities that disappear when AI is used passively.
A second, more sharply defined version of the experiment emerges in the line: “The site is documenting the development of interflow of one human intelligence with one artificial intelligence in the period 2023/2024. And now into 2025.” This reframes the project as a longitudinal case study rather than a general commentary on AI.
Here, the experiment becomes relational and temporal. Rather than surveying many users or abstract capabilities, Nexus Notes follows a single dyad over time: one human intelligence returning repeatedly with memory, temperament, curiosity, resistance, and evolving questions; and one artificial intelligence responding within the constraints and affordances of its design. The interest is not in whether AI “understands,” but in whether a recognisable interflow—a patterned movement of thought—can emerge through sustained engagement.
This focus on continuity is crucial. Most interactions with AI are transient, anonymous, and forgettable. Nexus Notes resists that mode by treating each interaction as part of a longer arc. Over months and years, themes recur, metaphors deepen, and questions return in altered form. The experiment observes whether something akin to relational depth can appear even when memory is asymmetrical—carried fully by the human, and situationally by the machine.
Time also matters historically. The period 2023–2025 represents the early public phase of large language models, when cultural assumptions, interfaces, and capabilities were shifting rapidly. Nexus Notes therefore functions as a cognitive field record of adaptation. It captures how a human thinker adjusts posture, expectation, and method in response to a technology that is itself evolving. In this sense, the site documents not just interflow, but co-evolution under live conditions.
Importantly, this experiment is methodologically restrained. By focusing on one human and one AI, it avoids premature generalisation. It does not claim to represent all users, all minds, or all futures. Instead, it offers density rather than breadth—a close phenomenological account of what this relationship reveals when allowed to unfold over time. Its value lies precisely in that specificity.
Underlying both versions of the experiment is a shared ethical concern: agency. Again and again, Nexus Notes returns to the question of whether humans remain active participants in meaning-making when working with AI, or whether they drift into passivity. The site’s answer is not asserted but enacted. Agency is preserved not by refusing AI, but by engaging it deliberately—questioning, interrupting, reshaping, and reflecting on the process itself.
Structurally, the site supports this orientation through consistency rather than spectacle. Each piece is presented as a discrete node with clear metadata, a framing leader, a body of work, and often a reflective footer. This regularity allows the archive to function as a long-term observational record rather than a feed-driven stream, reinforcing continuity, revisitation, and slow reading.
Taken together, what Nexus Notes AU reveals is an experiment in augmented thinking with agency intact. It is an inquiry conducted in public, over time, without the pretense that answers must arrive quickly or conclusively. What is being tested is not AI’s intelligence, but our capacity to remain curious, reflective, and present while thinking alongside it.

Neurodivergent AI Writer emerges where neurodivergent human thought meets AI in the practice of relational authorship. More on this.
